Whole Home + Drinking Water Filtration Systems

When I design and consult with my clients I always emphasize the importance of high quality filtration solutions for air and water. I curate my relationships with the companies and products that I recommend and trust they have your wellness in mind at the highest level when it comes to water filtration.

Los Angeles is currently under a boil water alert due to contamination risks following the recent fires. This means the water supply may contain harmful bacteria, viruses, or other pollutants, making it unsafe to drink without treatment.

WATER IS LIFE

Our bodies are made up of nearly 60% water, and it plays a vital role in every function, from hydrating our brain and heart (both 73% water) to sustaining our lungs (83% water). However, the water we rely on isn’t always as clean as it looks. It often carries contaminants like heavy metals, bacteria, mold, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals that can harm our health if left untreated.

As a Wellness Building Designer, I always encourage making water and air filtration systems a priority, not an afterthought, in any home design or remodeling project. The reality is, no matter where your water comes from—city supply or a private well—there are challenges. Municipal water often contains chlorine and other disinfectants that can leave behind byproducts. Meanwhile, pipes made of lead, galvanized steel, or PVC can leach harmful substances into the water over time. Even faucets themselves can contribute to contamination by releasing trace amounts of heavy metals.

The solution? A high-quality water filtration system that removes harmful contaminants while preserving essential minerals for your health. It’s not just about drinking water—clean water matters in every part of your home. Chlorine vapors from unfiltered shower water can be inhaled, and the water used for laundry, bathing, and even watering your garden can carry unwanted chemicals and bacteria.

This is why whole-home filtration systems are so essential. They ensure every drop of water in your home is clean, safe, and healthy for you and your family. And during emergencies like boil alerts, systems equipped with LED UV technology provide an additional layer of protection by killing bacteria and viruses instantly.

Whether you’re dealing with a natural disaster or everyday water quality challenges, investing in a robust filtration system isn’t just about convenience—it’s about safeguarding your health. Clean water should never be a luxury. It’s a necessity.

Take the step to protect yourself and your loved ones. Prioritize your water quality today.

Drinking Water Filtration Details

The under-the-counter Reverse Osmosis (RO)  setup provides highly purified drinking water. It is specifically designed to remove contaminants on a much finer level, ensuring safe and clean water for consumption. Your RO system includes remineralization and LED UV non-chemical sanitation.

  • Dissolved Salts (TDS)
Removed: Sodium, chloride, sulfate, and fluoride. These are dissolved solids that contribute to water salinity and hardness.

  • Heavy Metals
Removed: Lead, arsenic, mercury, chromium, copper, and other toxic metals that may pose serious health risks.

  • Nitrates and Nitrites
Removed: These are common contaminants from agricultural runoff, which can be harmful, especially for infants.

  • Other Inorganic Chemicals
Removed: Uranium, boron, and radium, which are naturally occurring or result from industrial pollution.

  • Microorganisms
Removed: Viruses, bacteria, and protozoa (like Giardia and Cryptosporidium), which could pass through the whole home filter. The RO membrane pores are small enough to block these pathogens.

  • Organic Contaminants
Removed: Pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, and other organic compounds that may not be removed by whole home filters.

  • Disinfection Byproducts (DBPs)
Removed: Additional reduction of THMs, HAAs, and other byproducts that could remain after whole home filtration.

  • LED UV Non-Chemical Sanitation
Neutralizes: Any remaining bacteria, viruses, or protozoa that might survive the RO membrane, ensuring your drinking water is free from microbial contamination.

  • Remineralization
Adds: Essential minerals like calcium and magnesium, improving taste and ensuring a healthy mineral balance in drinking water.

Whole Home Water Filtration Details

Thoughtfully designed whole home filtration systems for residential and commercial buildings available nationwide.

The whole home filtration system filters all water entering your house. It is designed primarily for improving water quality used in showers, laundry, dishwashing, and for appliance protection. Here’s what it removes based on the setup (ultrafiltration with a 0.2-micron carbon block and polyphosphate scale control):

  • Sediment and Particulates
Removed: Sand, rust, dirt, and larger particles. This prevents clogs in plumbing and appliances.

  • Chlorine and Chloramine
Removed: Chlorine and chloramine used in municipal water for disinfection. Removing these improves taste, smell, and reduces skin irritation when showering.

  • Disinfection Byproducts (DBPs)
Removed: Trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs) are byproducts of chlorine disinfection. These can have long-term health risks if consumed over time.

  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
Removed: Organic chemicals, like benzene, toluene, and pesticides, which can affect water quality and pose health risks.

  • Microorganisms (limited to ultrafiltration size)
Removed: Bacteria, protozoa, and some viruses, depending on their size (larger than 0.2 microns). These can cause illnesses, especially in untreated or well water.

  • Scale Control (Polyphosphate):
Controlled: Calcium and magnesium, which cause limescale buildup in pipes and appliances, are controlled by polyphosphate. However, these minerals are not removed, just prevented from forming scale.
